International online exhibition A city as a writer’s workplace is open
6 July 2020The international online exhibition A city as a writer’s workplace, a project by our colleague Unesco City of Literature Ulyanovsk, is now open.
The exhibition contains 100 photographs of workplaces and favourite city spots accompanied by personal texts from international writers and artists. It explores the connection between writer and city.
The online exposition contains photos from Europe, Australia, Russia, New Zealand, the USA, Israel, the UK, South Korea, China, South Africa, and India. Not only do we get to see hidden city gems, but we also get to explore the working conditions of authors ranging from a traditional desk to the kitchen table, the couch, writers residencies and various outdoor set-ups. The pictures are accompanied by personal statements by the authors, explaining how the respective cities influenced their work.
